An excerpt from a beautiful, beautiful short film/book trailer for one of the best books of 2011, by one of my favorite musicians, and a book that was powerful influence on The Drowning Girl:

Paradoxical Undressing - Trailer (edit) from kristin hersh on Vimeo.

And many of our Providence haunts are glimpsed.

Gods, doesn't Kristin Hersh ever age? I hadn't hear that song before and it's so haunting. House Tornado and Hips and Makers bring back such bittersweet memories for me.

Kristin Hersh's music saved my life. She's an influence on me, as well. Now I can't wait to read Drowning Girl!

I saw Throwing Muses play live for the first time a couple weeks ago; I haven't been able to describe it to people, but that video is a pretty good approximation. It was one of those gigs where you come out different than when you went in.

Thank you for posting this, I would likely have missed it and it's gorgeously haunting.
