The non-list MMO I played was Age of Conan. Currently though, I don't play any.

I am running the free option for AoC. It's a nice way to vent after a frustrating day.

Another Age of Conan player here. It is the game I've played most often over the last six months or so; before then it was City of Heroes.

I tabletop and console game in addition to online mmorpgs. Though the tabletop and console games aren't generally rpgs.

Still play Anarchy Online once in a while... Play a slew of console/computer games, predominately RPGs and JRPGs, though some first-person shooters. Tabletop some, not as much anymore.

Other MMOs: I tried out WAR a couple of times. Thought it was too close to WoW, mechanically, which is rather sad, considering how heavily WoW draws on Warhammer aesthetically.

I also played around a bit with NeoSteam and Wizard 101. The latter had a decent system but it just couldn't hold my attention. The former... well, if I could have gotten over the aesthetics I didn't like, I might have come to appreciate more the aesthetics I did like.

Also did a Guild Wars trial account. It was decent, but didn't grab me. Guild Wars 2 looks more promising.

Played WoW for a wee bit, but got tired of the fetch quests so fast I never made it out of the starter Troll lands. Now I mostly stick to my DS and tabletop.

The only MMORPG I’ve played is Kingdom of Loathing. I’m normally a dice-and-paper guy. (Well, okay, I would probably be addicted in short order if I started playing World of Warcraft or similar...)

Morrowind is the only desktop RPG for me... Oblivion? Not another fucking elf! Ditto^2 for Skyrim et al.

Would much rather play tabletop, or even internet-enabled text-only gaming rather than ANY of the MMORPGs I've seen. And despite the snobbery that might resound from this post, I do check them all out, hoping one might not be tedious game-theory-inspired-under-the-covers-crap that they all integrate out to be.

Does text-based RP on IRC count as a MMORPG? (Yes, I am old school.) It's not massive? But it's online? And there's multiple players?

Guild Wars was another game that I engaged in for awhile too. For years I got together with a dedicated group of individuals who did tabletop gaming. I've done everything in pen and paper from D&D 1st ed all the way up to and including 4th edition D&D. We did White Wolf, Ars Magica, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Deathwatch, Star Wars and some GURPS thrown in to boot.

I was also a huge console gamer and am part of the Nintendo 8-bit generation. I tend to only actually "play" a few games at a time. Right now that would be Rift and WoW. Most of my time is spent in Rift. I love games of all types and at least try to keep up to speed on the industry. But really since I'm a business analyst and a father I've only got so much in the spare time department. :)

I don't play. I'm a beginner at everything, so every time I try I have to kill big rats. And I'm all, "Yeah, I'm really going to kill a bunch of fucking rats." And then everyone's like, "But if you kill enough rats, you become a kind of super elf. Or possibly a big cow with a hammer." And I ask, "What do big war cows have to do with elves, and why do elves hate rats?" So they say, "Try Second Life. It's like porn, but with worse dialogue."

So, they're crazy bastards and I don't play.

i admit to having an irrational hate for MMORPGs because Everquest ruined my life for almost 2 years. i couldn't get any of my friends to leave the house or stop playing it.

I have a similar (not so irrational, imo!) hate for all things MMO.

I played WoW for a bit but got tired of it (and gave LOTRO and EVE a go as well) but got tired of the whole genre after loosing a girlfriend and some friends to them.

When I do game these days, I stick mostly to console games these days, plus a very occasional romp if something decent is released for OSX on steam or if I find a bit of nostalgia I want to re-experience on Good Old Games.

Most of my pleasure time though is spent on music (both performing and listening) and photography.
