You know, I often find Keith Olbermann to be a self-important douche, but this was a really fantastic piece.

I completely and totally agree with everything he said and I've posted this in my LJ. This needs to be shared.

When I watched this video this morning, I thought to myself that there's no way I could have said this any better. His commentary gave me some sort of small spark of hope that one day things like this will change.

Thanks for posting this. I mean what century do we live in? WTF? And what the hell is the deal with the rest of the states? or the separation of church and state? I know it's a democracy and there may be a higher quotient of biggots but you'd think they would understand that refuse first amendment rights to "certain segments" of our population kills it for ALL of our population. I'm not sick of being angry I'm just sick. It seems like too much time has gone by for our country to still be living under a rock. I mean what would happen if poeple had to obtain a liscence to breed? and certain people could't? at least there is some logic behind that. P.s. I'm computer illiterate so if anyone knows how to copy this to my other ranting place it would be most helpfull.

maybe??neat videos are good though.

Here's a link to an interesting article about the proposition that includes the demographics of the vote:

I have a small amount of hope, since in 1992 there was an amendment passed in Colorado to prevent and nullify laws that banned discrimination against homosexuals, but it was elminated. Denver, Boulder, and Aspen had such laws and all voted it down, but the rest of the state decided that they knew better...it was prevented from being added to the state constitution in January of 1993 by a District Court judge, which was supported by both the state and federal courts. Reagan-appointed Justice Kennedy had to point out that antidiscrimination is not a "special right". Reading about the case did make me want to puke black bile over Justice Scalia, however. In 2007, a state-wide law was passed that prevents job discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

At least I could be proud of Colorado for the first time in my semi-adult life, in helping to make it possible that the next couple Supreme Court justices may be appointed by Obama.
