I hate winter mornings in Manhattan. It's like the whole city is steam. How can you make an entire city from steam? Why would you want to? Steam and straight lines.

I'm going to assume you got home safely last night. If not, I suppose you won't let me know. You might at least have locked the damned door when you left. I'm amazed I wasn't murdered in my sleep.

I was lying in bed just now, thinking about how ordinary everything is. My whole ordinary life. Unremarkable from every angle. I wonder if it's too late to become a pirate?

About two hundred years. Kind of funny, because I was just reading an essay on how Northerners think the South is always hot and that they never write about the ice storms or winters in the South. Could just be because all the Southernors complain so much in such nice weather.

Of course my complaint was the opposite. I was walking around Manhattan thinking "where's the snow? Why has there been no snow?"

At least they are showing Purple Rain at BAM so I can really engage in my "I miss Minnesota" obnoxiousness (I even know what lake Apollonia jumps in when Prince tells her to purify herself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka)

Wow, for a second I was really confused. Until I read "Rabbit Hole Day the Second."

"I wonder if it's too late to become a pirate?"

Hilarious, I was just asking myself the same thing the other day.

I know this is life down the rabbit hole, but I would still like to see how it turns out. Maybe on down here, you can become a pirate after all.

Never too late to take to pirating,
whether it be sea, space, ice, or arse.

Arrrr.

Oh I love it when NY gets all misty like that. It's so Blade Runner. I love walking through it with a leather coat, jacked into some tunes. Makes me feel mighty.

I'd hardly call your life ordinary.

Wow, I never imagined how freeing jumping down that rabbit hole could be! I don't know why it seemed scary. It was very cathartic. :)
