Yesterday, despite the frelling raging headache which stayed with me all the way down to bed, I began the first vignette for Sirenia Digest #1, a mermaidy piece presently titled "Madonna Littoralis." It's off to a good start, and I hope to finish it today. I also dealt with more interview stuff and some things that needed doing for Subterranean Press. I believe that they'll be announcing Alabaster sometime this week, which means that they'll also begin taking preorders. I'll keep you posted. I became sort of obsessed with a Walter Crane painting, The Horses of Neptune (1892), and stared at it for longer than I probably should have. I can't help but wonder if Tolkien ever saw it. He must have. In the evening, Spooky made a very spicy curried something in the wok with lots of asparagus and porta bellas and a few shitakis, tomatoes and about a ton of garlic. We had it over udon noodles. I got back to Shadow of the Colosus, and be warned, that eighth colosus is a bitch. I'm halfway through the game. Then Spooky read Son of a Witch to me until I was too sleepy to listen anymore. So far, I'm loving the book. I don't think there's anything else even remotely interesting about yesterday. It was grey all day, and misty after dark. The rain began sometime after midnight. It looks like February out there.

Spooky's mom just called from Rhode Island.

Yeah, that's pretty short. But I think that's all for today. I'm a little anxious to get back to "Madonna Littoralis." Thanks to everyone who offered words of support yesterday; your comments were appreciated.

I was a fan of Wicked long before the musical (which I've never seen or heard songs from), but have been wary of this new book, because it smelled like 'ah crap, Maguire is banking an easy cash-in on the musical.' It's reassuring that you're enjoying it.

Also, apologies if this has been addressed in a post I somehow missed, but do you know offhand when Frog Toes and Tentacles is supposed to ship?
