I think I have texted less than 10 times when pushed by family members and they never get more than "No" , "Yes" or "OK" I tell people to not text me tho it doesn't stop them.
I feel the same way about phones too except when I want to call someone or someone has good news. I am a such a jerk.
When phones were new, people would send notes to whoever they were planning to call to say "I am going to call at such-n-such a time". I always thought that was polite. It would give individuals the time to get ready to accept a call or to just sneak out.
