Determined to change it -- even for just the summer, I forced myself to take a class that would dump me in uncomfortable yet thrilling positions. Techniques in Outdoor and Environmental Education. Premise is to prepare folks to teach the former to other students. In short, it's been a summer camp for adults. I've learned to plan multi-night backpack/camp trips, rock climb, kayak, and sail. It's been a struggle -- but the thrills have been worth every effort.
