While the emotional impact of this entry is necessarily different for you as it was for me, since you created some of those rather compelling new characters in The Dreaming, I still want to say that I felt myself go warm as I read this.
In contrast to some of the Sandman fans I knew personally, I never jumped in the whole anti-Dreaming bandwagon. In fact, while I did enjoy the first few issues, it was your work on it that really got me interested in the series and later, your non-graphic fiction as well, some of which I've just put in my Amazon.Com Wish List.
It may be cheesy, but thanks for those wonderful wonderful stories you told in your inimitable way. Hope the convention went well.
