I refuse not to fear a bad "first draft," as I do not write novels in drafts. I write the novel. If it has to be rewritten, I've failed to do my job right the first time.
Thank you for saying this-it's the way I write. And I kept being told it was wrong, and I'd try it their way and get bored blind and just give up. Now I feel a lot better about how I do things...
