One of those WoW things.

If you're playing an Orc named Bigg, then you obviously can't be bothered. Or maybe you're some sort of rap-star wannabe. Or, more likely, your imagination never made it out of the birth canal.

Can we all please stop being ironic now? Or post-ironic? Or whatever the hell this silly ass early 21st Century default setting is? It was already old ten years ago.

That's just sad.

I remember my gaming days: coming up with Just The Right Name was required, and people looked at you funny if you came up with something like "Murray the Cleric".

I know what you mean. I'm not an RP player like you, but I've always thought names were important. My highest level toons are called Karenina and Aggedor. I think the only ironic name I've used was Figurehead, for our guild master sock puppet toon. All of my other alts have proper medieval sounding names. I'm always a little leery of people who can't quite grasp that idea.
