Just finished Sirenia #38 (still haven't gotten to 37 - sheesh). Loved it. I really enjoy that every day your blog or the digest sends me to wikipedia to learn something new. I hadn't read a few of the Poe stories/poems you mentioned and sought them out. Same with Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Last Winter, Let the Right One In, Roadside Picnic/Stalker, and numerous other films, books, places, people, etc etc.
The Scherezade tale was my favorite of the two. The ending was perfect.
I am SO excited for The Red Tree, and already have a few friends I am planning to gift it to.
