Congratulations! The Armory district was where I first lived in Providence, on Hudson St. There's a sweet community garden in the area, and a tiny park on Bell Street nearby (off Broadway), which also has a little Unitarian chapel (I like it so much that I thought for a moment of joining, even though i'm in agreement with Darwin. The chapel has inscriptions written in brass tacks on the huge leather doors, a shell collection, and desolate or sublime scenic paintings. It was called a "church without a people" when it was built, by an art dealer, Mr Eddy, who was also called an atheist and infidel. A good friend of mine played Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time there recently. Also, you are near to La Lupita on Olneyville Square; there are tacos with soft corn tortillas and avocado for $1.50, and it's owned by a very sweet family.
