Wounded Angel

If you are a Sirenia Digest subscriber, you shall likely recall that the cover image for #24 was The Wounded Angel by Finnish symbolist Hugo Simberg (1903). Indeed, The Wounded Angel is the National Painting of Finland. Turns out, Nightwish, the Finnish symphonic power metal band, has used the painting as the inspiration for their video for "Amaranth" (a track from the album Dark Passion Play, 2006-2007). I'd heard the song, being a fan of Nightwish, but had not seen the video, and I thank alvyarin for bringing it to my attention. And I shall now bring it to your attention. It's gorgeous.
