Wookie lips.

Late, late, late, and I need to be in bed. But I was going to mention my surprise at finding myself disappointed that the oleaginous Malan Breton was given the boot on Project Runway last night. I loathe the man, but this third season is shaping up to be notable only in its almost complete absence of personality. What a painfully dull lot. In that drab company, Mr. Breton at least commanded attention. And whoever imagined that Miss America would make for an interesting challenge? For the first time, I found myself bored at the series. Anyway...

My thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sclerotic_rings for reminding me of Titan and the wonders that continue to be revealed by the ESA Cassini probe. Wow. Perhaps we will not have ethane or methane seas, but whatever the solar system presents beyond the speculations of mankind are wonders enough for me. Okay. Bedtime. Perhaps I shall even sleep...

I couldn't believe they didn't cut Vincent or that other woman - blech - his dress was dreadful - green with cupie shoulders - the girl one big whine - at least Malan tried to create something interesting.

I think the nice-nice will go away in the next episode - I feel like people have been getting along way too well.

When it came down to Malan and THAT woman whos name I refuse to speak, I had a sick feeling about who was going to be out. I thought Malan's dress was not the best, but NOT the worst either.

THAT woman whos name I refuse to speak did little but try to find someone to latch onto, whine and complain the entire challenge. Admittedly, Vincent was a prick, but you know she could have done SOMETHING!

Personally, I'd have sent both Vincent and THAT woman whos name I refuse to speak home. Not Malan. Not my pretty, bitchy, snobbish, cute when he's nearly crying Malan...

sigh

I do agree THAT woman (I actually can't recall her name) should have been the one to go. And Vincent needs to go before he has a nervous breakdown on camera. And yes, Malan's dress was actually one of the few that I actually liked.

I can, I just refuse to use it. It's like speaking Voldemort's name at Hogwart's you know?

Malan's dress was daring, but he also made some critical mistakes (too heavy on top, too short and unfinished on the bottom) but it wasn't bad enough to be cut. However, THAT woman displayed zero talent, zero ability to work in a team, she failed at every task she was given...

I posted a link to Malan's website on my LJ, so we may continue to worship his fabulousness still...

Although Malan annoyed me, when he talked about his mother telling him he would never amount to anything, I found myself starting to like him a bit and understanding why he was such a snotbutton. His dress showed that he had technical skill and creativity, and he and his teammate worked together to create something.

Vincent's dress was a shapeless, poorly fitted, puckery mess. He and the whiner needed to be smacked with a rolled up newspaper and sent home.

Ish,I hope someone will drop out and they bring Malan back.

You had to feel something for Malan after talking about his childhood, and it tore you up more when he was out. Thanks, producers...

Vincent's dress was so...WRONG. Ugly, not well-maked, he once again demonstrated a lack of taste when it comes to details (remember the hat?). I could barely accept him staying, but that WOMAN whos name cannot be said should have been sent off. Then forced to disembowl herself with a blunt pair of pinking sheers.

If only they would bring Malan back, sigh...

I was surprisingly disappointed to see Malan go as well. I think the dress would have worked better strapless but it wasn't that bad. I thought for sure the producers would keep him around because he was interesting. Angela sure is a heinous bitch for someone who purportedly lives off the grid. I am guessing she will be the one to go for breaking the rules later in the series.

I posted a link to a story on Yahoo about the rule-breaker on my LJ, if you are interested...

last night's was the first ep i've seen of this season due to delays in getting the diretv back up.
having not seen any previous shennanigans to dissaude me otherwise--and probably largely due in part to his resemblance to Benecio del Torro in "Snatch"--i fell pretty immediately for Malan.
problems with his dress--wrong colors (too dark, dare i say?) and the bunchy effect he was going for was overdone. however, the silhouette he was going for was classic!

i was so disappointed to see him go!
Angela should have been shafted by mere fact that she didn't even sketch anything. i mean, come on.... and Vincent's dress was hideous.

i liked Kayne's... until you saw that sea of frouffy ruffles. but, well.... i think that's a mandatory feature of pageant dresses.
sigh.

Kayne did exactly what Miss USA wanted-give her a fabulous pageant gown. He's done them for years, he had such enthusiasm for the project, and he went after it totaly. He gave her what she wanted, so of course he won.

The model could hardly walk it in - way too narrow around the ankles. Would have loved to see her try to walk up and down stairs in it. Probably would have fallen on her tushy.

Oh, Malan, we barely knew you...

[identity profile] shadowmeursault.livejournal.com 2006-07-22 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
agreed, and given Kayne's enthusiasm and know-how, he got what he deserved in toto.

i'm just not a frouffy ruffles fan, myself. ;)

Upon watching Miss Universe, once I saw Usa's dress I skreighed 'Barbie is that you?' If that was the winner I'd hate to see the loser. Puerto Rica's dress and Japan's dresses were much nicer.

How do you feel about methane lakes and storms?
