I must agree with your dislike of l33t speak. It infuriated me every time my now former supervisor sent me e-mails ending with, "lol" instead of actual punctuation. It didn't matter if the e-mail was friendly non-business related chatter, or informing me that I needed to meet with him and the higher-ups because I was about to be written up, he always used, "lol" in place of a simple period. I wish I could say he was some young kid new to professional life who didn't get it yet, but he was nearing fifty, well educated, and is not only a former high-school principal but he teaches college courses in the evenings.
