Blizzard completely erased the ability to hybridize your talents, and truncated the talent tree to such a degree that it's virtually meaningless. The ability to hybridize your talents in Rift was one of the first things that attracted me, aside from the overall look. You should check out the various classes and abilities. I only played up to level 21 on my cleric during the beta, but had a couple of days to mess around with switching out my talent builds. Frankly, I think Rift might be too complex for some of the idiots that are making WoW almost intolerable, at times. And it doesn't have poop jokes or smack you over the head with pop culture references left and right.
