Duvall's such a big, maybe underrated reason why that film works. (Not underrated in general, but for this particular film.) It helps so much to have him not going off the rails and doing his job while D-FENS is so spectacularly going off the rails. (And, well, pretending to do his job. Finding out that he still commuted daily to his former job was, for me, a surprisingly creepy moment that stayed with me.)

Solid, thoughtful, disturbing film. I try to get behind that.
