What's a dough boy anyway?

A confection peculiar to New England. Sort of like a beignet, though larger and without powdered sugar (usually, doughboys are coated in granulated sugar). Deep-fried dough, sweet and slightly salty. At Iggy's, a doughboy is about fist sized and flat.
