Yes...I write about how I've been neglecting the blog, and how I will now cease neglecting the blog, and proceed to neglect the blog all over again.

But, truthfully, there has been very little to say, which makes me reluctant to say anything.

I've been trying to get a new vignette started, for Sirenia Digest #46, something to accompany "Shipwrecks Above." But so far nothing. I did make a halfhearted effort to clean the office on Thursday to clean my office, and it is cleaner. The rest of the week is a blur.

So, yes...Bill Schafer at Subterranean Press has confirmed that the Alabaster trade paperback is now sold out. There are no plans for a second printing. There are, however, a few copies of A is for Alien remaining.

And, of course, The Red Tree.

---

Yesterday, after I discovered that nothing would get written, we drove down to Saunderstown, to Spooky's parents' place. The day was chilly, but too bright, too blue. The trees are just beginning to turn.

I hardly saw summer. I can't imagine that I'm prepared for autumn.

Alabaster and other palaver

If I may link to Powell's Books, new copies of the trade of Alabaster are still in stock there (http://www.powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?inkey=74-9781596062238-0). Likely other retailers still have the book, too, just not SubPress.

But, truthfully, there has been very little to say, which makes me reluctant to say anything.

And you're still not the type to just make up stuff for your journal. I understand that. I try only to do that on Rabbit Hole Day each Jan 27th, like this (http://chris-walsh.livejournal.com/2006/01/27/).

I'm sorry to hear the muse has been obstinate of late (- and it sounds like things in general have been sketchy).

Have you considered taking some time to get away from it all? I mean, like, to Tahiti or something. (Or, Transylvania, in your case ...) Sometimes a change of scenery can do a body good.

Hang in there.

I would do that very thing, if only some kind soul would pony up the money.

Alas, I have no dough (and I must scream). But if you can manage a plane ticket to Vancouver Island, we'll gladly put you up on the farm for a few days.

Guaranteed: after a week with the sheep, you'll be dying to get back behind that keyboard.

Thank you. But even if I had the money (and I don't), I am unable to fly for lack of any valid photo ID. Basically, I can travel by automobile, so long as I have a driver, and that's it.
