When did you realize that these characters were your avatars?

Like I said, after Peter wrote the afterword for Tales of Pain and Wonder. I think that was when I first became consciously aware of what I was doing. That would have been...I'm not sure. Sometime in 1999, perhaps. Maybe 2000.
